Family Trip to Reykjavik: An Adventure for All Ages
Travel Report
*By Svea Fjordson*
Our family was full of anticipation when we landed in Reykjavik. The hotel, a charming boutique house overlooking the harbor, became our cozy retreat. The first days were marked by exciting explorations – the colorful houses, the vibrant city life, and the warm hospitality of the Icelanders immediately captivated us.
A definite highlight was our trip to the Blue Lagoon. The sparkling, milky-blue water enchanted us all. As we splashed in the warm water, we looked out over the surrounding lava fields. It felt like we were in another world. Our children loved the relaxation and swimming in the mineral-rich spring.
A secret tip that I absolutely want to pass on is Café Babalú. It is a small, hidden place with incredible charm. The walls are adorned with vintage decor, and the food – especially the pumpkin pie – was heavenly. We spent many happy hours there while the children could romp around in the play area.
On our last evening, we took a walk to Hallgrímskirkja, and the sunset over the city was simply magical. We stood there and paused to enjoy this moment. Reykjavik had won our hearts, and we will carry the memories of this trip in our hearts forever.
Overall, our time in Reykjavik was a wonderful mix of adventure, relaxation, and family togetherness. This city is a real insider tip that I can highly recommend.
